Apurba CHAKRABORTY  concept artist and animator

I am a fine art graduate student based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. While my formal education is in graphic design at both the bachelor's and master's levels, my true passion lies in experimental art, particularly experimental animation.

Concept and style are equally important to me while creating art. Conceptually, the enormous cosmos, the fantastical worlds of science fiction, as well as the lively and distinctive culture of Bangladesh, serve as inspiration for my work. However, my primary goal is to develop a distinctive look for my work that stands out. In studio work and time-based art, I place more emphasis on style and visual appeal than on the message I want to convey. As a visual artist, I believe that the visual side of art is more vital than massage.

My favored form of media is animation, particularly digital 2D animation. I'm motivated to develop my skill set and am constantly driven to experiment with new methodologies. I love the journey of finding new techniques. For instance, I have learned some computer software and computer programming for generative art. However, my main priority is the destination rather than the journey and skills. NPR (non-photorealistic rendering) is a field that particularly interests me. While the style of my work can range from minimal strokes to complex textures, I tend to avoid realism unless the context of the artwork specifically demands it.

My ultimate objective is to make my own animated feature and win attention on big international stages like the Oscars and the ANNECY. The development of a mature script and screenplay is one of my main challenges right now. I am also researching new tools, such as shader tools and different programming languages, in order to develop unique visual output. Along with that, I'm broadening my artistic horizons by working on set design and stop-motion animation. Through these activities, I've learned about clay sculpture, the intricacies of anatomy, and figurative art. The blending of many media, such as 2D animation, 3D animation, live action, and computer graphics, into a single, cohesive artwork has proven to be the most difficult part of my trip. Nevertheless, I'm confident that the end outcome is going to be revolutionary.

In conclusion, my artistic endeavors are a mirror of my distinct self and ideology. I try to stand out and make an impact via my animation and art. My artistic path is evidence of my dedication to exploring the frontiers of animation and visual art with the ultimate goal of leaving a lasting impression on the field.
